- School Psychology Program
All doctoral students in Educational Psychology, regardless of area of specialization, must demonstrate generalized competency. This may be demonstrated either by passing examinations or completing designated course work in each of five general domains of psychological inquiry (See Domain Courses and Doctoral Degree Requirements):
- Domain 1: Research Methods and Data Analysis
- Domain 2: Psychometric Theory and Methods
- Domain 3: Development Psychology
- Domain 4: Social-Personality Psychology
- Domain 5: Learning and Cognition
During the week prior to registration for the fall semester, entering doctoral students are required to take proficiency examinations in Domain 1 and Domain 2. Students with low proficiency in a domain must complete a vestibule course before taking further coursework in the domain.
In the doctoral degree programs/areas, students are accepted on a full-time basis only (a minimum of 9 graduate hours per semester).
