Profile:
I am the Director of the Cognitive Learning Strategies Project. The research I conduct focuses on the roles of strategic and self-regulated learning processes and skills and their impact on student learning and retention at the middle school, high school and college levels. Much of my work focuses on developing diagnostic/prescriptive assessments of students strategic and self-regulated learning processes and skills to help identify areas in which students need to improve. I also investigate the development of curriculum materials and instructional methodologies for teaching learning strategies to underprepared students, particularly in post-secondary educational settings. Finally, I am interested in the high school to college transition, student retention and the preparation of middle school, high school, college and university teachers.
